10 Gifts You Actually Want for VDay
I get it, Valentine’s Day is pretty overrated these days, but with everything we’ve been through over the past year, we might as well make the best of any holiday - no matter how small or irrelevant. I also get that most gifts are sooo cheesy. No, I don’t want a heart-shape box of shitty chocolate from CVS or an overpriced stuffed teddy bear that I probably begged my parents for when I was SIX. So I’ve put real thought into this curated gift list - hope you enjoy the recommendations! 1) Candle + Lighter - basic, but practical. Can never have enough because once s candle is burned, you need another! This is currently our favorite, but I also love this brand. Super fragrant & lasts hours. When it comes to lighting our candles we use this wick trimmer (before even lighting the candle — helps burn slower + more evenly) & we use this electric lighter. It’s so easy to use & way safer than a traditional lighter. We love that it’s long so it can fit into small candle jars & we don’t have to worry about burning our finger tips!

2) Beauty Fridge - this is #1 on my list this year. It’s sooo cute, not at all clutter, & will make the application of your skincare products 10x better since your stuff will be nice & chilled! The fact that it’s so mini makes it easy to style + fit into really any space. It’s also a small woman owned biz which makes me happy to support :))
3) Vase - if you love always having fresh flowers in the house (guilty) then maybe investing in a cute vase for yourself/your friend/your partner is the perfect gift to pair alongside a beautiful new bouquet. Recently my mom gifted us this one from McGee & Co — we looooove it. It’s the perfect height, texture & size. Plus, it’s only $24!!
4) Chaga - ok, hear me out. This chaga powder has CHANGED our lives. Big statement, I know, but I can’t even put into words how incredibly delicious this powder is. And if you/your friend/your partner are health conscious they’ll appreciate it so much. No calories, no sugar, incredible for your immune system, antioxidant superfood, tastes like a mocha latte. 5) Black Owned Biz - considering supporting Black creators/businesses shouldn’t be a trend AND it’s Black History Month shouting out one of my favorite Black-owned businesses is a no brainer. Mented Cosmetics is a non-toxic makeup line & available at Target so no excuses if you’re looking for a last minute gift! The gloss + blush are my favorites.
6) Massager - this has been on several of my gift guide lists & that’s because it’s just so good. You plug it in, get yourself situated, & press the power button. So simple + it feels amazing. There are controls for more pressure & even heat (I always opt for heat), It’s on sale right now for $39 with 2-day shipping.
7) Gold Filled Jewelry - out with the plated, in with the filled! Whether you’re gifting yourself or another human jewelry you want it to be of quality. The worst is getting a piece you love & then 3 months later it starts to tarnish. Which is why I LOVE Shop Riviere! The pieces are super affordable, dainty, & all made by a gal in Brooklyn. 8) Lube - sorry, mom. But like, let’s not act as if it’s forbidden. I’d recommend this one because its main ingredient is aloe which is great for those who are typically sensitive. Or this one because it’s free from shitty ingredients, like parabens, petroleum, silicone, or glycerin & it’s actually so clean the lube is edible!! And this one looks extremely intriguing because I honestly love everything Nécessaire makes.

9) Robes - this is like a V-Day no brainer. If you already own one then you may be thinking eh, BUT there are two I absolutely love. The barefoot dreams because it is as soft & calming as you’d imagine. Then this one which I recently got which is Nordstrom brand is so insanely plush & cozy!! Either feel like a big fat hug & I’m here for it.
10) Nespresso - this machine is somehow still on sale & I would snag it before it’s out of stock again. Comes with the frother (that I use every single day even if I’m not making a Nespresso cup!). Nothing says, “I love you” like a hot cup of joe in the morning. Preferably delivered to me in bed. A girl can dream!
